  • American Mathematics Competitions(AMC) : American Mathematics Competition is a series of math tests for middle and high school students. The Mathematical Association of America (MAA) sponsors the AMC

  • American Invitational Mathematics Examination (AIME): the second exam in the series of exams used to challenge bright students on the path toward choosing the team that represents the United States at the International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO) 

  • United States of America Mathematical Olympiad (USAMO) : The United States of America Mathematical Olympiad (USAMO), along with the USAJMO, are the third exams in the series of exams used to challenge bright students on the path toward choosing the team that represents the United States at the International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO)

  • Harvard MIT Mathematics Competitions (HMMT)

  • Berkeley mini Math Tournament (BmMT) : BmMT is open to middle school students in grades 8 or below

  • Berkeley Math Tournament (BMT) : BMT is open to high school students in grades 12 or below. In particular, there is no lower age limit to participate; advanced middle school students are welcome to compete.

  • North America’s Prestigious Math Competition (Mathcon) 

  • PiMath contest (AlphaStar math contest)

  • MATHCOUNTS: A popular competition with a strong focus on problem-solving strategies. 

  • American Regions Math League (ARML): Primarily a team-based competition with a focus on collaborative problem solving.

  • Purple Comet Math Meet: A team-based online competition with flexible scheduling. 

  • MathWorks Math Modeling Challenge (M3 Challenge): A competition that emphasizes applying math to real-world problems. 


<Prestigious Math Summer Camps>

  • Mathematical Olympiad Summer Program (MOSP) : a 3-week intensive problem solving camp held at the Carnegie Mellon University to help high school students prepare for math olympiads, especially the International Mathematical Olympiad

  • Promys (Program in Mathematics for Young Scientists) : 6-week summer program in mathematics for strongly motivated high school students from across the U.S. and around the world.

  • Ross : a 6-week intensive summer experience designed to encourage motivated pre-college students to explore mathematics. During those weeks, students are immersed in a world of mathematical discovery.

  • Stanford University Math Camp (SUMaC) : for students who are in 10th or 11th grade at the time of application who have an exceptional interest in mathematics

  • Canada/USA Mathcamp : an immersive summer experience for mathematically talented students ages 13–18 from all over the world.

  • HCSSiM (Hampshire College Summer Studies in Mathematics)

  • Awesome Math Summer Program : A three-week intensive virtual summer camp for mathematically gifted students from around the globe
